UNITED GRAND LODGE OF ENGLAND AND MASONIC CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, THE FREEMASONS' CHARITY, LAUNCH UKRAINE CRISIS APPEAL

The United Grand Lodge of England and the Masonic Charitable Foundation (the Freemasons' charity) have been monitoring the growing refugee crisis in Ukraine.

In response to this, we have created the Ukraine Crisis Appeal to allow Freemasons and their families to donate.

All the money raised in this appeal will be used to support the overall contribution that we are already making on behalf of all Freemasons under the United Grand Lodge of England, which includes £50,000 to assist the British Red Cross in their work providing essential aid to refugees.

The Masonic Charity Foundation Donated £50,000 to the British Red Cross to help support  refugees from Ukraine

Thousands of Ukrainian refugees will be given help and support from Freemasons in England and Wales, following a £50,000 grant to the British Red Cross.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF, the Freemasons’ charity) and the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) have been monitoring the growing refugee crisis of over 500,000 Ukrainian people who have been forced from their country or been internally displaced from their homes.

We are seeking to identify the most critical needs and we are pleased to be able to support and work with the British Red Cross in helping the growing number of refugees.

Many Freemasons have contacted the MCF and UGLE to ask how they can offer further support in addition to this grant. We have therefore established a dedicated Ukraine Crisis fundraising appeal using the Relief Chest Scheme to allow Freemasons, their families and friends to donate.

We encourage Freemasons and others wishing to support Ukraine to donate via the Relief Chest online appeal page.

DONATE NOW

In addition to this national appeal, Freemasons from Lodges across England, Wales and overseas have been sharing their own stories about volunteering, fundraising and donating at the local level. We are inspired by their efforts and proud to be able to join them in responding to this growing humanitarian crisis.

As one of the largest charitable organisations in the country we are consistently in the top 5 providers of support to our local communities, both individuals and local organisations, and to national and international groups. Locally, our support may be in the form of helping a youth organisation to buy essential items or donating money and equipment to local organisations such as hospices. Nationally, for example, we provide £Millions to medical research and we are always early responders whenever a humanitarian disaster may occur anywhere in the world.

We are thrilled to announce that over £100 million has been awarded in grants since our establishment in 2016.

This incredible milestone, fully funded by Freemasons, represents help for thousands of disadvantaged individuals, families and communities across England, Wales and overseas whose lives have been changed for the better by Freemasonry

We would like to thank all our dedicated supporters who have made this milestone happen – from volunteers, fundraisers and regular donors, to those who tell others about our work; each and every act of support has meant vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our communities are being heard and supported through life’s challenges.
